German: Why you should learn it

German is a great way to immerse yourself in the learning process. It is easy to learn a language in a country with many native speakers. It is possible to consider yourself fortunate enough to have lived in Germany, and be able to observe the disciplined lifestyle of Germans and their diverse culture. Based on my own experience, the following are a few things to keep in mind.

Don’t be afraid to try new things!
Make the most of your time in Germany. You should not only visit historical sites and enjoy the ‘beer festival’, but also explore the locals. You will be able to learn more about the culture and language of the area by interacting with them. You may come across phrases and words that are pure German. It all depends on your purpose. Traveler’s visits allow you to have more than a simple business trip that keeps you busy. Germany is still a country of weekends. You will see every German enjoying a beer or dancing in a Salsa Bar! Also, give a try, you’ll be surprised 😉 !

Be friends!
You might meet a friend when you begin to interact with others. This will help you to quickly learn German. It’s a great idea to visit bars and other public places on weekends. This will allow you to get to know people better and make new friends.

Be kind!
Be sure that your intentions are not to harm anyone or cause any offense. If one begins learning a foreign language, he or she may miss some of the ethical details. Don’t be ashamed to admit it! Once you have developed an open attitude to learning German in Germany, you’ll be accepted by the German community.

Do your homework!
You should always have a pocket dictionary and phrasebook with you. Before you go to Germany, make sure you have a set of these pocket phrasebooks and a dictionary. You will need them for basic questions like asking directions or hiring cab phrases. You will also find useful phrases and words to help you shop, buy clothes, bargain, purchase food and snacks at a restaurant, bar, etc. Another good way to learn German is to read short stories, comics, and books that allow you to easily relate to English.
