Your support enables GLEN to deliver equality for lesbian, gay and bisexual people in marriage, for our families, at home, at school, at work and in the wider community.
GLEN was established in 1998 and was an unfunded and unstaffed organisation until 2006 when The Atlantic Philanthropies funded GLEN's 5 year programme Building Sustainable Change which aimed to bring radical change to lesbian and gay people's lives, their relationships and families, their experiences in school, at work and in the wider community.
This funding allowed GLEN to build a strong professional team that has delivered huge change for LGBT people across all those areas, and to secure some funding support from the Government.
Atlantic Philanthropies have continued their support until 2015 when they will close down the foundation.
GLEN needs your support to complete the task; to ensure that we have fully Constitutional equality through access to civil marriage; to ensure that young LGBT people are safe, supported and affirmed in schools; to ensure that we can go to work safe in the knowledge that we can be open and fully respected and included; to ensure that we can safely walk the streets hand in hand.
In short, GLEN needs your support to ensure that LGBT people can fully and equally participate in all aspects of Irish life.
