New Bill Aims to Remove Discrimination for LGBT Teachers

07 March 2013

A group of Labour Senators and TDs today (7th March) publish the Employment Equality (Amendment) (No 2) Bill 2013. The Bill seeks to amend Section 37.1 of the Employment Equality Act to remove any prospect of teachers being discriminated against based on who they are.

GLEN welcomes this Bill as significant progress and we look forward to working with the Oireachtas to ensure that full employment equality is provided for LGBT people and that no threat or perception remains that LGBT people can be discriminated against in employment.

Update Wednesday March 13th
