The largest number of companies ever will be participating in this year’s Dublin Pride parade.

24 June 2016

Companies coming to Pride send out a very important message to companies, their employees and hundreds of thousands of potential customers who will be enjoying this year’s Parade, that their organisation celebrates and values everyone.

The largest number of companies ever will be participating in this year's Dublin Pride parade.

GLEN's Diversity Champions programme, Ireland's network of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) inclusive employers, will be joined by hundreds of employees from member companies at Pride.

It's brilliant to see so many companies and trade unions coming out for LGBT equality. There will hundreds of people parading with their work colleagues today to show that LGBT people can be themselves in their workplace and that diversity is really valued.

Deutsche Bank are the 2016 sponsors of Diversity Champions at Dublin Pride. They'll be joined by Allianz Worldwide Care, Brown Brothers Harriman, ESB, IBM, Dell, ESB, MetLife, PwC and Trinity College Dublin and fellow members Accenture, Dublin City Council, eir, EY, LinkedIn, Microsoft, PayPal, Vodafone and many more will also be parading.

Research published earlier this year found that half of LGBT employees across all employers generally in Ireland described their workplace as being LGBT inclusive. However one in four described their company as being a difficult place to work for LGBT people and one in five straight people surveyed said they would feel uncomfortable working with an LGBT colleague. There is a strong need for companies to demonstrate their credentials on diversity and inclusion.

Happy Pride from GLEN.
