Civil Partners will need just 5 days notice to marry in final changes to Marriage Bill in Dáil

Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald brings new amendments to Marriage Bill today as it completes the journey through the Dáil. The amends will mean that civil partners will need to give just five days notice to marry. The Bill gives effect to the marriage referendum.

The Marriage Bill (2015) is due to complete all stages in the Dáil today and will then move to the Seanad. Minister for Justice and Equality Frances Fitzgerald has brought forward amendments which will mean that Civil Partners will need to give just five days notice to marry, once the Bill is commenced.
