Ireland says Yes to marriage for gay and lesbian couples.

Ireland becomes the first country in the world to introduce marraige equality by popular vote, with more than 1.2 million people voting in its favour. The result was confirmed on Saturday, May 23rd 2015. The Yes vote prevailed by 62 to 38 per cent with a large 60.5 per cent turnout.
